  • Non Uniform Day Friday 17th February

    Tue 14 Feb 2023 Mrs J L Dickerson

Non-Uniform Day to Support the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal

As you will have seen in the news recently Turkey and Syria have been hit by devastating earthquakes, destroying hundreds of buildings and leaving tens of thousands of people without shelter in freezing winter conditions and in need of urgent aid.

The Disasters Emergency Committee is raising funds to provide desperately needed blankets, emergency shelter, food and clean water.

At the request of some of our families we are going to try and help the appeal by holding a non-uniform day on Friday 17th February.

In return for children coming to school in non-uniform we are asking for donation of £1 (or whatever you can afford) that we can then forward onto the Disasters Emergency Committee to help them get much needed support to those that need it.

Thank you as always for your support.

  • National Storytelling Week

    Mon 06 Feb 2023 Mrs J L Dickerson

Last week was a busy week at St. Luke's!

As part of National Storytelling Week some of our classes visited Bury Library to be introduced to the library and to listen to a story. The children really enjoyed themselves.

We were also lucky enough to have some of our school governors come into school to read to some of our classes.

In Early Years we had stay and plays so that our families could come in and see what the children were learning about and what books we were reading.

You can see all the lovely pictures on our school twitter account @stlukesbury
