Peer Mediation

St Luke's School Mediators!

Peer Mediation is a restorative process lead by our trained team of Year 6 role models. It provides a safe structure for our children at St Luke’s to solve minor conflicts and to develop co-operation skills. During the process, our mediators use the ‘LEAF’ ethos and guidelines, which enables the children to listen to one another, share their emotions, agree on how to makes things better and have the opportunity for a follow up (please see the Peer Mediation booklet below, which each peer mediator uses for support and guidance).

Peer mediation empowers children to communicate in a supportive environment; helping to build peer relationships and boost overall wellbeing throughout the school. Additionally, it is a great opportunity for our Year 6 peer mediators, as it promotes emotional and social skills as well as building self-esteem and confidence. To support our fantastic team of peer mediators there will always be adult supervisors available if a resolution cannot be reached.
