As I am sure you will agree, last week’s Christmas Fair was a huge success! It was fantastic to see so many families in school having fun.
Organising such an event is a big task and this year we have been incredibly lucky to have an amazing team of parents that have helped us out. I want to extend my personal thanks to each and every one of you for giving up your time to help make the event the success it was. Gathering donations, selling raffle tickets, making sweet cones and bags, sorting through endless bottles of pop and naming hundreds of soft toys - your enthusiasm and energy were nonstop.
To the whole school community I must thank you for your outstanding generosity, both for all the donations you have made over the last few months and for your generosity on the day.
I would like to also like to take the opportunity to thank the many people and companies that donated to make our raffle as big as it was, your generosity means so much to our school – THANK YOU!
The generosity and efforts of everyone has helped us raise the amazing total of £1203! We will now look into purchasing the book vending machine that we said was one or our goals.
PTA/Friends of St. Luke’s
Over recent weeks families and members of the school community have expressed a desire for us to hold a Christmas Fair this year.
As I am sure you are aware organising and holding such an event takes a lot of work and we would only be able to put on a fair with support from the school community.
To look at whether or not we have enough interest and volunteers we are going to hold a short meeting on Thursday 2nd November at 9:00am, the meeting will last no longer than 45 minutes.
At the meeting we will explain what is involved in setting up a Christmas Fair, ask for any ideas that families may have to make it a success and look at what time people have to offer in the run up to the fair and on the day of the fair. We are looking at holding the fair on either the 8th or the 15th December if we have enough volunteers to help.
The past St. Luke’s Christmas Fairs have been amazingly successful and have helped raise much needed funds for school and we are very hopeful that we can make “Christmas Fair 2023” our best yet.
We look forward to welcoming you to the meeting on 2nd November 2023.
Please find below a link for the new Key Dates list that has been added to our letters page. This has also been emailed to families and paper copies will be sent home today (one per household).
We hope you find it helpful.
Yesterday was a fantastic day - it is lovely to have you all back in school.
