  • Upcoming Events

    Thu 23 May 2019 Mrs J Dickerson

    Dear Parents/Carers,

    Upcoming Events

As you are all aware the next half term is a very busy and exciting time of year in school with many events organised for children both on and off school premises.

The local authority will be moderating all three key stages over the upcoming weeks which has unfortunately meant we have had to delay the T-Factor. We are sincerely sorry about this change but we really have no option as moderation must be completed before we can start to work on the amazing event that is the T-Factor. The T-Factor will now take place on Thursday 18th July 2019.

Please find below a list of all other confirmed dates that are coming up over the next half term.

    • Eid Parties (Class and Community) – Thursday 13th June 2019 - 1:00pm – 3:00pm

    • Sports Day – Wednesday 19th June 2019 (Reception/KS1 9:45am & KS2 1:30pm)

    • Bikeability (Year 6) – Monday 1st July – Thursday 4th July 2019

  • One Education Attendance Support

    Thu 23 May 2019 Mrs J Dickerson

    Dear Parents/Carers,

We have recently engaged the services of One Education to support our ongoing improvements to school attendance. One Education is a traded service based in Manchester working with schools across the North West region. They passionately believe that every child has the right to a quality education and they consider themselves privileged to be able to support the education of children.

One Education will be providing school and parents with comprehensive support such as assistance in meetings to offer practical advice about ways to improve attendance. They provide school with a daily helpline which gives up to date advice to our Attendance Team and they can also carry out home visits for any parents who require extra support.

We are very excited to be working with One Education and we are confident that with their professional support and advice, we will continue to improve our school’s attendance which ultimately improves our pupil’s achievements.

  • Wild Crew 2019

    Wed 15 May 2019 Mrs J Dickerson

Last Thursday saw our final Wild Crew session in Chesham Woods. The children have completed an eight week course that focused on building resilience and confidence. The children adapted to their surroundings amazingly well and they did themselves and the Wild Crew Leaders proud! The final session saw them creating memory sticks, leaving their mark (a sticky jam handprint) and then as we extinguished the campfire they said goodbye to something they wanted to leave behind!

    Well Done Wild Crew!!

  • Holocaust Memorial Butterflies

Wed 08 May 2019 Miss Bolton

Earlier this year St Luke's contributed some beautiful pieces of art to the Town Hall Holocaust Memorial exhibition. Each child in our school designed an individual butterfly which was then displayed as part of a Holocaust remembrance evening.

These amazing butterflies have now been moved to the Bury Parish church and the Bury library, so that the public can see this wonderful exhibition!

  • Mayoral Visit

Wed 01 May 2019 Miss Bolton

Last week St Luke's had a special visit from the Mayor of Bury!

Our amazing School council presented to the Mayor and gave a wonderful tour of the school whilst discussing our brilliant work and christian values.

Our fantastic Earth Keepers also presented to the Mayor and discussed their important ongoing work to contribute to MP James Frith's initiative #plasticpledge. They explained what we do at St Luke's to reduce our plastic waste and help the environment!
