  • The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations

    Thu 28 Apr 2016 J Dickerson

On Tuesday we will be celebrating the Queen's recent 90th birthday here at St Luke's. We will be holding a "Rule Britannia" themed party in the main school hall. EYFS and Key Stage 1 will be from 2pm until 3pm with Key Stage 2 from 3:15pm until 4:15pm.

Children can wear red, white and blue clothing all day and we are asking for donations of cakes to go with our afternoon tea.

The school choir will be performing and children will be putting on a dance display.

We hope to see you all there.

  • Well Done Lewis! UK Number One.

    Fri 15 Apr 2016 Mrs J DIckerson

A huge congratulations from everyone here at St Luke's to our very own, Lewis George from 6P.

At just 10 years old Lewis is ranked Number 1 in the United Kingdom for Thai Boxing.

Lewis now holds the North West Title and The English Title. he has had more fights in between winning the belts. He has trained very hard and has not let it get in the way of his school work.

Last Sunday Lewis competed against a 12 year old boy who has never lost a fight...until now!! Lewis won the fight which was stopped in the 3rd round due to his outstanding technique and strength.

As you can see from the photograph, Lewis now has some fantastic belts and trophies that he can treasure for years to come.

We are all very proud of you Lewis - nearly as proud as your Mum and Dad!

  • Year Six SAT's

    Thu 14 Apr 2016 Mrs J Dickerson

From 9th May Year Six will be sitting their SAT's. In the next few weeks the teachers will be working extra hard with your child to ensure they achieve their best. To help them reach their maximum potential it is very important that they attend school every day.

Can we please therefore ask that any medical appointments are made outside school hours and that you send your child into school on time every day. Learning starts in the classrooms as soon as children arrive so any time missed is valuable time wasted.

Thank you for your support with this.
