Week 3

In Reception we have been busy this week preparing lots of special surprises for our mummies for Mother's Day. We have made a special card, a magnet, a love bug fingerprint and we have talked about why we love our mummies!!

We are holding a special stay and play session with lots of fun and exciting activities!!

Mrs Green created a special powerpoint with photos of us and our mummies. We loved watching it!!

In Maths we have been looking at the rhyme 5 little men in a flying saucer. We have been discussing the different ways we can show how many are left. We used a dice frame to help us explore!

Continuing our learning in Maths, we found different ways to make seven using a double dice frame. Mrs Green was very impressed with our learning!!

Independent Learning Time

In Drawing Club this week we have been reading the traditional tale of Jack and the beanstalk. We have learnt new vocabulary and actions and love joining in with the story and listening our for our vocabulary words of the week!

After reading Jack and the beanstalk. We were fascinated by the magnificent castle in the story. Mrs Green showed us some real castles and we had great fun building our own castles!!. We talked about the different features and were interested about the moat and drawbridge!!

At the start of the week in maths we were learning about 3D shapes. We listened to the story of Rapunzel and then had to build a tower. Mrs Green set us a challenge - we had to use at least one shape with a curved face!!

We also explored which shapes would roll and which would not!

This week we also started our Guided Reading Groups. We loved working in a small group and we learnt how to paired read with our partners. Mrs Green was very impressed with us!!
