What a wonderful and busy term it has been in Nursery!
This week, the children have thoroughly enjoyed continuing our topic, ‘Amazing Animals and Our World’. Our story of the week, ‘Rumble in the Jungle’, captured their interest, and they loved exploring the different jungle animals in the story. The snake was a clear favourite!
Our book of the week!
Our sound of the week!
In phonics, we focused on the sound ‘k’. The children showed great confidence in recognising words that begin with this sound and enjoyed taking part in the activities. Nursery have really enjoyed meeting our new friend this week called 'Katie the kind kitten'.
Nursery have also been working very hard on their mountain challenges. It has been fantastic to see their determination and excitement as they complete and sign off their achievements. Well done to everyone!
We also spent time learning about the meaning of Easter and why it is an important celebration. The children took part in an Easter parade and attended a church assembly in the hall, helping them to understand this special time.
To end the week, the children had lots of fun taking part in an Easter egg hunt in the outdoor area. Each egg contained a different sound for them to identify, and once they guessed correctly, they received a chocolate egg to take home. A lovely way to finish the term!
We are incredibly proud of everything the children have achieved this week and throughout the term. What a fantastic end to Spring 2!
