Online Safety

We are a WEB-SAFE School

Be WEB-SAFE is a school-wide strategy aimed at improving online safety and wellbeing. It creates a proactive WEB-SAFE culture that engages all stakeholders- pupils, staff, families and governors and supports positive online mental health and well-being across a whole-school approach to online safety, and online disinhibition.

It also empowers staff, pupils, and families to understand how their brain works differently in a digital world. It teaches pupils about the psychology behind our online behaviour and how they can keep themselves safe in a simple way. Together, we aim to equip our pupils with the skills they need to be Safe, Appropriate, Friendly & Educated (SAFE) when online.

What this means for our school:

  • It supports us all to be aware of online behaviours & risks and our reactions to them
  • It deploys strategies to support positive online mental health for staff and children
  • It supports the implementation of professional online safety standards for all staff
  • It is underpinned by a culture of high standards in person and online.

We encourage families to talk openly about online use and to stay involved in their child's digital life. We regularly share resources and tips to support safe and healthy use of technology at home.

If you ever have concerns about your child’s online activity, please speak to one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads.
