Week 8
We have had a fantastic first half term in Reception Callaghan!!!
This week we have done lots of creative activity's as we have learnt all about Diwali. We watched a few video about this festival being such a special time in the Hindu faith.
We made our very own Diya dishes from clay, we waited for them to dry before we painted them bright colours and added glitter on to represent Diwali being the festival of light, we really enjoyed doing this and couldn't wait to take them home.
Miss Callaghan was able to borrow some very special items used in Diwali from a special friend who celebrates. We looked at all of the ornaments, decorations and even tried on traditional clothing, they were very special and sparkly. We really liked seeing all of the sparkly decorations that are put up in houses during the festival time and loved how bright the clothing was.
We then made some Diwali cards to take home, and in the construction area we made Temples.
