This Week in Nursery – A Roarsome Start to Our New Topic! 🦖
This week, Nursery have made a fantastic start to our new topic, Dangerous Dinosaurs!
The children have been thoroughly enjoying our exciting new role play area set up by Miss Latham. Our young explorers have loved digging in the dinosaur digging site, searching for fossils, dinosaur skeletons and bones. In the Jurassic Cafe, the children have been busy making delicious foods and feeding our very hungry dinosaurs!
Our book of the week!
Our sound of the week!
In Phonics, Nursery have been learning our new sound ‘e’ and have done an amazing job remembering our special friend, Emily the Energetic Elephant. Miss Latham has been so impressed with the children trying to write our new sound too. Well done, Nursery!
On Wednesday, we celebrated Earth Day and learned all about how special our world is and how we can help keep it clean and protected. When the children arrived, they discovered lots of rubbish in our water tray, with the animals trapped in plastic and litter. Nursery were brilliant at helping to rescue the animals, putting the rubbish in the bin and talking about how we can look after our planet. Well done, Nursery! The children also created their own beautiful Earth collages using a range of materials. They looked amazing!
The children have been very busy completing their mountain challenges this week too. They enjoyed matching the correct coloured pegs to our dinosaurs and comparing which dinosaurs had more or less food on their plates. Miss Latham was very proud of everyone’s hard work and enthusiasm.
As the children were working so hard, Miss Latham even set a bonus challenge to see if they could reach the castle and earn 5 Class Dojo points. They rose to the challenge brilliantly!
What a fantastic start back to Nursery and to our new term. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the weeks bring.
Keep it up, Nursery! – you have been amazing! ⭐
