Week 6

What a wonderful last week of the Spring 1 half term. Mrs Green is so proud of how Reception are doing with their learning.

We started the week with our Monday Morning Phonics and Reading Stay and Play - we are so happy to welcome our grown ups in to share learning and activities with. One parent even said "What a good turn out - look how busy it is."

This week in Drawing Club we have been reading Alien Tea on Planet Zum Zee. We loved learning our new vocabulary and we love listening to our new story - it is so much fun!!

We have been super busy at the start of our day with our morning activities and this week we have enjoyed Valentine's themed learning!! Mrs Green was so proud of how we got busy straight away - we got lots of Dojo points for working so hard!!

In Maths we have been using the number rhyme 5 little speckled frogs to help us with our number bonds to 5. We have been practising every day and we now know that

5 and 0 makes 5

4 and 1 makes 5

3 and 2 makes 5

2 and 3 makes 5

1 and 4 makes 5

0 and 5 makes 5

We particularly enjoyed acting out the rhyme to help us remember our number bonds and then we recorded one of the number bonds by ourselves - this was so much fun!!

In RE we are continuing our learning about The Creation Story and this week we are learning about Day 6 and how God created land animals and humans.

In UTW we have continued our space theme and have been creating our very own aliens!! Just like the ones on Planet Zum Zee.

On Friday we enjoyed a Valentine's themed day. We learnt about why we celebrate Valentine's Day and created a special gift to take home for our grown ups.

We have enjoyed using our new calendar during the start of our Maths lesson and are talking about months, seasons, days of the week. We are developing our language of yesterday, today and tomorrow and we look forward to seeing what events are coming up.

We have really enjoyed our Spring 1 half term and are looking forward to our holiday next week!!

We wanted to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day which was during our half term holiday. So we decided to create some special treats for all the staff around school. We then delivered them and were so excited with how happy our little treats made everyone!!
