Week 6

What a busy term we have had in Nursery!

To end our topic all about superheroes, Nursery really enjoyed listening to the story 10 Little Superheroes this week. The children were fantastic at counting all the way up to 10 and were able to recognise the different numbers they could see. We were so impressed with their confidence and enthusiasm!

Our book of the week!

Our sound of the week!

This week in phonics, we have been learning our new sound ‘n’. The children were amazing at getting involved in all of the activities set up around the classroom to support our new sound. They particularly enjoyed playing the oral blending game with Miss Robinson and did a brilliant job joining in. To further support our learning, we even made “nests” for our loved ones and the children were fantastic at recognising our sound of the week in the word nest.

In Maths, we have been learning all about the number 5 and exploring the different ways we can make 5. The children loved creating their own “Sammy the Snail” using different Numicon pieces to represent 5. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growing confidence with number.

Nursery have also been very busy making special Valentine’s cards and pictures for their loved ones to show how much they care. They put so much effort and love into their creations!

In PE this week, the children took part in an obstacle course where we focused on listening carefully to instructions and taking turns with our friends. They showed great teamwork!

On Friday, to celebrate the end of term, we enjoyed some superhero activities. The children completed their very own superhero obstacle course in the classroom. Making sure to watch out for the “lava”! It was a fun and exciting way to end a brilliant term.

Well done, Nursery, for a fantastic week and a wonderful term. Miss Latham is so proud of you all!

Have a lovely half term break.
