Week 5

This week in Nursery, our learning has been centred around the exciting topic of farm animals. The children explored the different animals you might find on a farm and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a range of fun, hands-on activities linked to this theme.

Our book of the week!

Noisy Farm by Rod Campbell Books | Children Books ( Kids Books Read Aloud ) Farm Animals Sounds

Our focus story this week was ‘Noisy Farm’, which the children loved. They did a fantastic job recognising different farm animals and were especially enthusiastic when acting them out. There were some wonderful animal impressions!

The children also embraced our mountain challenges and showed great enthusiasm and perseverance in completing them. In maths, we introduced the concept of capacity, where the children learned to identify when something is empty, full, or half full. They did an amazing job demonstrating their understanding during practical activities.

Our sound of the week!

In phonics, we focused on the sound ‘c’. The children were fantastic at joining in with the activities and particularly enjoyed going on a sound hunt around the room to find objects beginning with ‘c’.

During our Scribble It sessions, the children showed great creativity by drawing beautiful barns for their farm animals to live in. We were so impressed with their efforts and imagination. Well done Nursery!

To end the week, we celebrated with our Eid parties on Friday. The children came into school dressed in their party clothes and had a wonderful time celebrating with their friends. It was a lovely way to finish a busy and exciting week.

Well done to all of Nursery for their fantastic work and enthusiasm this week!
