Week 5

This week in Nursery, we have thoroughly enjoyed our story all about 'Supertato'. The children loved listening to how Supertato helps his vegetable friends and saves them from the Evil Pea!

Our book of the week!

Supertato - Books Alive! Read Aloud book for kids

We have been very busy creating our own superheroes, thinking carefully about their special powers and how they could help others. The children showed fantastic imagination and creativity in their designs through their scribble it lesson.

We even went on a special hunt to find Supertato’s friends and make sure they were safe from the Evil Pea. It was lots of fun and the children were brilliant at working together to solve the clues!

Our sound of the week!

This week we have been focusing on our new sound “i”. The children were amazing at getting involved in all of the activities set up around the classroom linked to our new sound. They particularly enjoyed completing “dot the sound” using bingo dabbers. Miss Latham was very impressed to see that some of the children are already beginning to have a go at writing the sound independently. Well done, Nursery!

In Maths, we have been learning all about the number 5 and practising counting up to 5. The children had great fun making their own t-shirt for number 5 to wear. They were fantastic at carefully counting and making sure they only put 5 stickers on the t-shirt, as number 5 only likes things that are five!

We also took part in TTRS Rockstar Day and the children came to school dressed as rockstars. Everyone looked absolutely amazing! Nursery really enjoyed dancing and singing like a rockstar to our favourite songs!

This week we were delighted to invite parents in for a stay and play session to celebrate National Storytelling Week. The children did a wonderful job listening to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the craft activities linked to the story and were very proud of their creations. They looked fantastic!

To end our week, we celebrated NSPCC Number Day on Friday. The children came in wearing their own number tops and outfits and had lots of fun taking part in different number activities throughout the day.

What a brilliant week we have had in Nursery!
