Week 4

What a busy and exciting week we’ve had in Nursery! Our focus story this week was 'Giraffes Can't Dance', which the children absolutely loved reading. Inspired by the story, we have been learning all about animals that live on the safari and exploring where they live within our world.

Our sound of the week!

In phonics, we explored our new sound ‘o’. The Nursery children were amazing at recognising the rhyme that goes with the sound and enjoyed watching Ollie the ostrich running really fast with his friends on the interactive whiteboard.

This week, Miss Latham introduced our mountain challenges! Each week, we complete two exciting challenges, plus a bonus challenge at the end of the week to reach the castle on our mountain display. The children have been working hard and showing great determination.

In maths, we have been learning about measuring weight. Nursery were fantastic at identifying which objects are heavy and which are light using the scales and different types of objects within our classroom.

We also had some special events this week!

On Red Nose Day, the children came dressed in red and participated in fun activities to raise money for this wonderful charity.

On Tuesday, we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with lots of exciting themed activities.
