Reception have been so busy with their learning this week!!!

On Monday we started the week with our Phonics and Reading Stay and Play. Thank you to all the grown ups who attended - we had so much fun!!!

In Phonics we have been learning more new sounds and had great fun learning ur, oo as in moon, or and ow as in cow. Mrs Green helped us remember our 'or' sound by treating us to a popcorn treat before lunchtime!!!

In Drawing Club we have been reading The Hundred Decker Rocket. We have loved creating our own new 100 vehicles and using our new phonics knowledge to write our passwords and sentences!!

In Maths we have continued looking at equal amounts and subitising. 

In RE we looked at Day 4 of The Creation story and talked about how Christians believed God created Day and Night. We created our own day and night artwork to help us remember our learning.

As part of our Space learning we have been looking at the stars and on Friday we looked at the artist Vincent Van Gogh and his Starry Night painting. We then created our own Starry Night artwork using different media!!

This week Mrs Green introduced her Helping Hands. If our name is on the poster we get to give out the snack to everyone at snack time. We were very excited and can't wait for it to be our turn!!!!

We were also lucky enough to take a look inside an ambulance. Nursery had a visit from Mrs Fisher's son Jack and he talked about his job helping people and told them about what is inside an ambulance.
