Week 4

Week 4 has been fantastic, another week full of creative learning!!

On Monday morning we have continued with our Phonics Stay and play, we have started to do a count down in class each week for the next one, the children have really enjoyed doing this with adults from home.

In Phonics we have continued to learn more of our diagraphs (two letters that make one sound) we have worked really hard at remembering them and played lots of games to remember these, we played a game with our 'or' sound, Miss Callaghan would say some different words and when she said 'popcorn' we would pretend to be popcorn, it was so much fun!

In Drawing Club we have been looking at the book 'The Hundred Decker Rocket'. We got the chance to create our own floor on the rocket some ideas shared was a bowling alley floor, a party floor, an ice cream parlour floor and even a beach!!

In Maths we have continued to look at equal amounts and subitising we arranged our dots in different ways to show they could be the same number but look differently.

In RE we looked at Day 4 of The Creation story and talked about how Christians believed God created Day and Night. We got crafty and created our own mini versions of day and night to help us remember what God created.

As part of our Space learning we have been looking at the stars and on Friday we looked at the artist Vincent Van Gogh and his Starry Night painting. We used a range of different medias such as chalk, stickers, oil pastels, crayons and felt tips to create our own stary night art work.

To finish off a fantastic week Mrs Fisher's son Jack came to visit us with his Ambulance, he showed us inside the Ambulance and how it all works, we was able to try on some of the hats whilst Jack told us how he helps people.

Some children called Jack a hero and they wanted to be like him when they are older! Thank you Jack for your visit!!!

We also said a goodbye and thank you to Shannon and had our last wiggle worship with her this week, we will be continuing this with another member from the Church. We made Shannon a goodbye and good luck in her new venture, thank you Shannon for everything you have done we will miss you!!!
