This week in Nursery, our focus story is Maisy Goes to the Hospital. Throughout the week, the children have been learning about the different people who work in a hospital and in an ambulance, and how they help our community.
Our book of the week!
Our sound of the week!
This week we have been focusing on our new sound, p. Nursery were amazing at getting involved in all of the activities set up around the classroom linked to our new sound. The children really enjoyed tracing our sound p in coloured sand and even created their own p collages using different materials. Well done, Nursery!
In Maths, we have been learning all about the number 4 and practising counting up to 4. The children loved creating their own Numberblock 4 on the board and had a go at shape printing to make their own Numberblock 4 too. We also practised our counting by finding out how many frogs were on the log and how many were in the pond in our tuff tray. Great counting, Nursery!
We also had a very special visitor this week! The children were so excited to meet Jack the Paramedic, who brought his ambulance to school. We had lots of fun learning about what you can find inside an ambulance. The children then enjoyed playing doctors and nurses, helping our teddy bears to feel better. They were amazing!
In Scribble It this week, Nursery drew a bear for Maisy to take with her to hospital. Their drawings looked fantastic and we were so impressed with their pencil control. Well done!
In PSHE, we have been learning all about our community and where we live. The children were fantastic at recognising our school, shops and parks, and they even had a go at drawing their own houses within our community.
We are so proud of all the children and the enthusiasm they have shown in their learning this week. Well done, Nursery!
