Week 3

This week in Nursery we have been learning all about minibeasts that you might see in the garden. Our story of the week was 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. The children were amazing at recognising the different foods that the caterpillar eats throughout the story and loved joining in.

Our book of the week!

Our sound of the week!

In Phonics, we have been learning the sound ‘g’. Nursery enjoyed colouring pictures and objects that begin with our new sound and had a really good go at practising writing the sound g. Miss Latham was very proud of how hard everyone tried!

In Maths, we have been learning all about height. The children did a fantastic job recognising which beanstalk was the tallest and which was the shortest. Towards the end of the week, we also explored long and short by looking at different caterpillars.

We have also been very busy making our Eid decorations, which we will be selling to parents next week. They look absolutely amazing! Well done Nursery!

On Thursday and Friday, Nursery invited their special person and mums in for our Mother’s Day Stay and Play session. The children enjoyed listening to a story read by Miss Latham, followed by a lovely PowerPoint of pictures of the children with their mums and reasons why they love them. Afterwards, everyone took part in a range of fun activities set up around the classroom.

It was such a lovely time celebrating how much the children love their special people and mummies. Well done Nursery for another fantastic week!
