Week 3

Reception have had another busy week!! 

In Drawing Club we have been reading How to catch a star. We have been working really hard composing our ideas and using our phonics knowledge to write our words, phrases and simple sentences.

In Phonics we are continuing to learn new sounds and this week we have been learning

In Maths we have been learning about equal amounts and have been playing lots of games to support our learning.

We enjoyed playing the 1,2,3,4,5 game where we had to show an equal amount on our fingers that matched the numeral card as quickly as we could!!

In UTW we are continuing to learn about Space ad have been finding out about Astronauts and Space travel. To end our learning this week we have bee designing and creating our own Space vehicles!!

On Tuesday, we celebrated Penguin Awareness Day - we learnt lots of facts about penguins and used our creative skills to create our own penguins!!

We also held our first weekly reading and phonics stay and play session. Our grown ups had great fun joining us for reading stories, playing phonics games and supporting us with our learning.

Our Sounds of the week

When learning the 'oo' sound as in book, we decided to create our very own 'book nook' in our classroom. We worked together to create an area we all loved!! We even used one of the sentences we read in phonics 'This is a good book' to select a book each day that we want everyone to read!! We had so much fun!!

We worked together with Mrs Green to create our very own Space small world tuft tray to support our learning about our new topic!!
