What a wonderful packed week we have had! We have had lots of new earning, lots of dressing up and food tasting too!!
This week we continued our Lunar New Year learning on Monday with food tasting. We made a stir fry and all tried some! It was yummy!!
We started our week off on Monday morning with our Phonics stay and play, we had lots of new activities including our sound bean bags and our fly word splatters.
Miss Callaghan bought some ingredients and her Wok from home and Nursery and Reception Green joined us to watch a stir fry being made together. Miss Callaghan cooked all the ingredients together and Miss Latham helped her put the right ones in.
In Drawing Club this week we have looked at the book 'Titch'. We really liked this book and learnt about Titch growing his seed in to a big plant. We looked at the pictures of it growing bigger and bigger!!
In Day 1 we drew Titch.
In Day 2 we drew the garden
In Day 3 we drew a new object Titch would have
In Day 4 we drew what our seed would grow in to.
On Monday we had Wiggle Worship with Andrea. We really enjoyed seeing Wiggle again and we sang our songs we loved.
In Maths we have continued to look at 2D shapes. Last week we looked at circles and triangles. This week we have looked at squares and rectangles. We have also looked at some 3D shapes too. When learning about squares and rectangles we did some printing using blocks and paints to make different patterns and to see how many we could fit on our card.
In Maths we also went on a shape hunt with Miss Copeland to find squares and rectangles around the school. We found lots of different ones around the school and outside in the different playgrounds.
On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. We all dressed up as a book character. We had some amazing costumes and we did lots of activities on 5 books!!!
Miss Callaghan dressed up as one of the books we love the most in Reception. Frankie the Flamingo!!
