What a fantastic week we have had Reception Callaghan!!!

We are in the full swing of our new topic of Space. We have had some fantastic creations this week.

In Phonics we have been looking further and learning more new diagraphs, we have looked at ai, ee, ng and nk. The children have really enjoyed learning these new sounds and we have been making words with our ELS phonic tiles it has been fantastic. 

In RE we looked at The Creation Story day 1, we learnt about God creating light and dark, we turned all our lights off in our classroom and used the twinkle lights to represent God making light, we also created some fantastic chalk pictures to create shadows in the dark from the light God created. We also had a lovely visit during our wiggle worship. 

In PSHE we looked at where we belong in our community, we looked at why we are special and what makes us special. 

In Drawing Club we looked at the book 'Wherever Next' we drew our very own baby bear and even invented our own picnic in space! Some children invented their very own space drink they would take with them. 

In Maths we have been looking at Number Block 5. We have looked at which Number Blocks can make number 5 and how many parts number 5 has. We created our own stamps of number 5 using paint and ink pads. 

And finally during our morning songs we have been focusing on balance in our flamingo song, we danced like a flamingo and even tried to balance like a flamingo!
