Happy New Year and Welcome back Reception Callaghan!!

Welcome back to another term! Spring 1 is full of creative activity's and new topics! We cannot wait to explore and learn more. 

This week we have explored the topic Winter, where we was able to play in the snow, make snowflakes and create some different pictures. 

We have settled back in to our routines straight away and we have loved sharing our stories of what we got up to in the Christmas break, it has been so lovely to hear such wonderful stories from the children. 

In UTW we have looked at winter, we identified winter features such as the weather and clothes to wear in winter. We really enjoyed cutting and sticking clothes on our mini me characters, where we cut out different jumpers and hats to stick on printed characters. 

In Drawing Club we looked at 'The Magic Porridge Pot'. We really enjoyed drawing our own inventions and trying some with our friends with sugar or jam. 

In RE we have started to look at the Creation Story, we looked at God making the world and some children enjoyed telling Miss Callaghan God created Mummy's, Daddy's and Spiderman! We sang 'He's got the whole world' and made our own worlds to represent God making ours. 

In Phonics we have started to move on with our sounds and have looked further at diagraphs where our sound is " Two letter that make one sound". We have loved learning these!
