School Re-Opening November 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

School Reopening Monday 28th November 2022

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support with the sudden and unexpected closure of school this week.  As I said in my letter notifying you of the closure this was a very difficult decision to make as I knew that it would cause inconvenience across the school community at incredibly short notice.

We have been humbled as a school by the support of all our families and are delighted that so many children have been able to continue their learning, either on line or via the work packs that have been collected.

We are going to fully re-open school to all children on Monday 28th November 2022 but I feel it only right that I share with you that Public Health are continuing to monitor the respiratory infection rates within our school. We are incredibly hopeful that the infection rates have dropped dramatically but should they remain high or increase again in the near future we may sadly face further periods of closure.

The re-opening on Monday includes the re-opening of Breakfast Club and all Booster Clubs, Phonics Clubs and the After School Club. Details of all clubs are as follows:

  • Breakfast Club re-opens at 8:15am.
  • Phonics Club for Year 3 and Year 4 will recommence at 8:30am (children can access Breakfast Club prior to this as before).
  • After School Club for Year 5 – 3:25pm – 4:15pm.
  • Year 6 Morning Booster Clubs for those invited will commence on Monday 28th November at 8:15am.
  • Year 6 After School Booster Clubs for those invited will recommence on Monday 28th November at 3:15pm

We are also planning for the pantomimes at Bury College and Manchester Sings to go ahead as planned next week.

We sincerely hope that all the children who were unwell have made a full recovery and we look forward to welcoming them back into school on Monday. However, whilst we want all children back in school we must ask that if your child is unwell, or has a high temperature that you keep them off school until they are well again and the temperature has passed.  In school we will continue to encourage extra handwashing and sanitising and will be increasing ventilation throughout school.

Once again I wish to extend my sincere thanks to you all for your support and understanding.

Yours sincerely,

Miss M Michael
