Amazing events this week!
This week has been a very busy week in 5B! We had a fantastic time learning all about how to stay safe when crossing roads during our road safety session! The children practiced using their 'STOP, LOOK, LISTEN, THINK' skills by crossing roads with their friends and on their own!
We also had our Amazing World book day in school where the children dressed up as their favourite book characters and joined in a number of activites including writing book reviews, a mystery maths challenge, reading eggs and designing book covers!
Spelling tests will take place every Friday afternoon. We will be starting a new spelling system in Year 5. New spellings will be given on a Monday following a specific rule. Each morning the children will complete a short task to further embed this rule and ensure children are focusing on the rule behind the spellings and not simply learning for the test.
Children will still be expected to practise their spellings at home in preparation for the test on Friday.
This term physical education will be on a Monday afternoon and we will be focusing on gymnastics. Please ensure your child has an appropriate P.E kit (white t-shirt, black shorts & black pumps).
P.E kits will stay in school and go home at the end of every half term.
Science- Spring Term: Life cycles
This term we will be looking at the life cycles of living things such as plants, animals and humans! We started off the topic by dissecting flowers to see how pollination occurs.
ICT This Term!
This term we will be working with Mr Hall and SPHERO! We will be controlling Sphero, moving him around the room and even changing his colour!
Take at look at one of our lessons.
