Spellings

Spelling tests will take place every Friday afternoon. We will be starting a new spelling system in Year 5. New spellings will be given on a Monday following a specific rule. Each morning the children will complete a short task to further embed this rule and ensure children are focusing on the rule behind the spellings and not simply learning for the test.

Children will still be expected to practise their spellings at home in preparation for the test on Friday.

Reading Books

Reading books will be changed everyday, it is expected that in Year 5 children read at least 3 times a week. After each read, the page number should be recorded in the yellow reading record book and signed. There are 2 house points on offer for each day of the week, meaning if you read every night you could receive 14 house points!

Physical Education

This term physical education will be on a Thursday afternoon and we will be focusing on gymnastics. Please ensure your child has an appropriate P.E kit (white t-shirt, black shorts & black pumps).

P.E kits will stay in school and go home at the end of every half term.

Our Christian Value this term is... THANKFULNESS!

This term we are looking at the importance of thankfulness and what we have in our lives to be thankful for.

'We are thankful for the safe, nice school we have'- Adam Khalid

'We are thankful for our kind and supportive families'- Hugista Adil

'We are thankful that we have food and water'- Ayaan Mughal

'We are thankful for the clothes and shelter we have'- Areeba Malik
