OUR NEW AMAZING READING RECORDS!
This term we are introducing our brand new reading records! Inside them you will find sections for your children to record their reading at home.
Please fit 3 read into 1 box. You will get 2hps every time you read at home!
It is expected that you read at least 3 times a week and return your reading record to school to be checked each Friday.
There are also fantastic grammar and reading questions and even the spellings you need to know!
Spelling tests will take place every Friday afternoon. We will be starting a new spelling system in Year 5. New spellings will be given on a Monday following a specific rule. Each morning the children will complete a short task to further embed this rule and ensure children are focusing on the rule behind the spellings and not simply learning for the test.
Children will still be expected to practise their spellings at home in preparation for the test on Friday.
This term physical education will be on a Thursday afternoon and we will be focusing on gymnastics. Please ensure your child has an appropriate P.E kit (white t-shirt, black shorts & black pumps).
P.E kits will stay in school and go home at the end of every half term.
Our Christian Value this term is... PERSERVERANCE!
This term we are looking at the importance of never giving up and being resilient!
Science- Spring Term: Life cycles
This term we will be looking at the life cycles of living things such as plants, animals and humans! We started off the topic by dissecting flowers to see how pollination occurs.
