Here you will find information about the topics we have been learning in Year 2. We will share photos, website links, key information and celebrate all the exciting things we have been learning.
I am your child's class teacher (Miss Pollard). Working in our class we also have Miss Mayes and Mr Thomas.
This term our topic is Muck, Mess and Mixtures. We have been reading the book George's Marvellous Medicine.
The children have been writing predictions, explanations and character descriptions. We are including expanded noun phrases, exclamation sentences, questions and a range of suffixes in our writing. We are also working hard to improve our handwriting every day.
In Maths we are looking at subtraction a 2-digit number from another 2-digit number, estimation, writing numbers as words and partitioning in different ways.
In Science we are learning about different materials such as metal, wood, plastic and cardboard. We will be investigating these materials during this term.
WORLD BOOK DAY
The children came into school dressed as a book character. We had a fantastic day celebrating reading throughout school.
The children are enjoying dance this term. They have a lesson for an hour each week.
Homework will be given every Friday and needs to be back in school on Monday.
Reading books need to be read each day. Your child can change their book when they are ready to. In school they get to do a 'quiz' on the books they have read.
Spellings will be given out every Monday and there will be a test every Friday.
