Ivan is a small boy who lives in a small village near a forest. In the winter, all of the villagers become very scared because the cruel and wicked Starjik visits in the night and takes away children. When Ivan's brother is taken, he decides that he will travel to Starjik's land and rescue his brother. The journey is long, cold and very dangerous. On his quest he is chased by wolves and tricked by Starjik. When he finally arrives at the Ice Palace, he has to face Starjik and try and melt the winter in his heart...
